        The project brief

1.The introduction of the team

Our three girls get together for a common goal, consisting of "Three Friends" team. In this activity, we never care about the personal gains and we share happiness and sorrows. The interest of team is above individual interest. We give full play to our strengths in the cooperation, share resources, discuss together, and solve the problem we encountered, give full play to every one’s sense of ownership, actively take the tasks assigned by the team. 2.The project summary

Recently, climate problem has become the focus for all countries people. Climate warming has brought seriously impact on Earth. Now, every country in the world has promoted to have low-carbon economy and low-carbon life, reduce carbon emissions.

The climate crisis has become the focus in the world. Copenhagen climate conference has developed the climate problem to a new level in December 2009. The climate crisis has led to a sea level rise, frequent natural disasters and many other issues.

Each country is exploring a better way to reduce carbon emissions. 2010 Shanghai World Expo shows many typical cases of low-carbon, the people’s consciousness of low-carbon is gradually improved. Our web of researching this project will discuss the global warming, as well as the potential solutions of when developing economy how to reduce carbon emissions.

3. Computers and network equipments in school

The percentage of students using Internet at home: 33%
The number of computers in school: 150
The network speed in school: 2MB
How long do we have internet in school: 6 years
The additional Information of our computer and / or Internet access:We have ADSL with 2M broadband network of China Unicom in school. Only very few students have Internet access at home, all teachers have internet access at home.

4. The problems we must overcome

A. The time is tight
Each of us has a heavy student learning task and some practical tasks, so for us, time is very tight in order to overcome this problem, we take full advantage of our free time and weekends, sacrifice many rest time, but we do not feel tired at all.

B. The different opinions
When our team discussed some problems, sometimes we had different opinions, we needed to express all the opinions, and some members insisted their own opinions. In order to achieve consistent results, we needed to communicate friendly and persuade each other, and sometimes we even voted to decide using whose opinion, but each member could implement the final decision.

C. English is not good enough
We have collected many reports and scholarly articles from abroad. Because many of them are in English, sometimes we used translation software for a quick access to information. Sometimes we asked our English teacher to help us.

D. The information collection was narrow
Our information source was not enough, and sometimes we couldn’t find the knowledge we wanted. We made full use of Internet to search information and also often went to the county library to borrow some references.

E. Lacking of experience to make web pages
As it’s our first entry, we did this page for first time, lacking of experience and some we didn’t understand in order to overcome this difficulty, we invited three computer professional teachers as our consultants to help us implementing our ideas.

5. Learn from the experiences

We deeply realized the change of climate which is as an important component of the natural environment for human survival has further impact on the natural ecosystem and social economic system by the study in these months. At present, with the deteriorating climate phenomenon, its adverse effects are more concerned because the negative impact could endanger the survival and development of human society in future. Now low-carbon economy and low-carbon life have become the focus issue, it can be said it is no surprise. Serious situation is driving each country in the world towards an era of low carbon economy. Each of us as a Chinese citizen and a member of the global village, we all must shoulder our own responsibility and mission, to build our green home!

6.How did you combine the normal lessons in school with the research activities of project “Doors to Diplomacy ?

Our school conscientiously implement the spirit of quality education to encourage students to use their spare time to participate in social practice with the overall development of students as the starting point and goal to develop practical abilities and creative spirit, to establish a correct world outlook, outlook on life, values and concept of talent, to enable students to grow up as qualified personnel to meet the needs of socialist development with Chinese characteristics and. Therefore, this project gave us a great opportunity to practice and use knowledge and moreover we could learn knowledge and experience which you couldn’t learn in the textbook in school. Let us become masters of learning.

This activity is our best practical lessons. We are all computer science students, this practical approach we have never experienced. Especially the pleasure is that we are greatly improved whether in social interaction, moral education or learned knowledge compared to the initial period by the experience of this activity and exercise. Students Have further understanding of low-carbon economy and low-carbon life which inspires our passion to pay attention to environment protection by this project activity.
