When Xiao Lan was at early age she was fostered in her grandmothers for her parents went to wok in Guangzhou, a southern modern city quite far away from her hometown. There were her grandmother, grandfather, two cousins and she living together.
Xiao Lan was most annoyed by her grandmother who was very picky and kept nagging at her any behavior as misdoings.
Xiao Lan was most afraid of grandfather who would scream at her to go back to her home whenever she did something wrong.
Xiao Lan hated her two cousins most for her frequent mistreating by them, and if she did anything back she would get blame, scold and even beaten from the grandparents.
