At period, 45,000 in total population of nearly 300,000 of Tongjiang join the Red Army. In Long Match, over 5800 Tongjiang soldiers were killed. After victory of the war of liberation, 500-odd ones still remained in the army, including 10 major generals and above. With concern of the central Party committee, The former No.4 Route Red Army headquarters museum was designated as one of national key historical and cultural sites under government protection with the board inscriptioned by Hu Yaobang and Jiang Zeming. The spirit of the Red Army guides our ways for every. We leaded them to several meaningful places, i.e. Bishanpo and No.4 Route Red Army Memorial,etc. Finally, we took them to Red Army Bridge . Until the second day, we took them to a peaceful townlet—Shaxi. A martyr cemetery was settled here (Wangping ). I was proud that my hometown was in Shaxi. They both were attracted by martyr cemetery. after short time. I didn't ask lots of questions, but told them stories about the Red Army and Tongjiang.At departure time, they presented that they would brought their kids to Tongjiang to experience this unique tour again. At apart time, we saw their diminishing back view reluctantly . We learned from this case that we can not just only know the spirit of the Red Army, but carry forward it.

“Reddening the Entire Sichuan” stone inscription was awarded “Top revolutionary carving” listed in “China Key Tourist Interests Dictionary ” in the first batch. Designated as provincial protected historic site, this carving is located on left side of Hongyun cliff in Jinjiayuan of Shaxi town . Each Chinese Word is 5.5M high and 4.7M wide with 0.7M stroke width, 0.35M depth and 7.1M word interval. Taking advantages of orderly calligraphy and vigorous strokes, it can be viewed clearly even off 10-odd KM . On August 24, 1933, “propagandistic outline for newly-developed revolutionary areas issued by Chuanshan Provincial CPC Committee Dept. ” mentioned that “eliminate Liu Xiang (a the most powerful warlord in Sichuan), even wipe up retroactive regime of Kuomintang from the whole Sichuan, redden the entire Sichuan, smash 5 th encircled suppression, fight for sovietized China ” , which referred “Reddening the Entire Sichuan” originally. In April of 1934, propagandistic department of provincial Party committee reviewed this site and determined to carve “Reddening the Entire Sichuan”. It took over 20 stonemasons four months to finish that tough work. Stone carving “ Sharing Land ” is on Foer Cliff, 30KM off Tongjiang county . Each word is 5.7 high, 4.6wide with 0.65M stroke width. It twins “Reddening the Entire Sichuan” enjoying good fame of Top Revolutionary Carving. 　 These treasure stone carvings are important materials for researching revolution in Chuanshan soviet area and fulfilling revolutionary convention education. Additionally, these are cultural tourist resources with development potential.

Liu Jinguo, 92 old, birth place: Tongjiang. He joined the Red Army at

Mashi street in Tongjiang on June 3, 1933 and was arranged into 8 th Company, 3 rd Battalion , 33 rd Regiment, 11 th Division of 4 th Route Red Army
Before long, I participated the assault on Daxian. As a recruit, I had no skills to fight. Experienced ones always charged enemy positions first. I could not remember how many battles I was in. Our troops started Long March in 1935. At that period, I was ignorant of 2 nd and 6 th Corps, but central Red Army. In June of 1935, we met them in Maogong of Xikang (western Sichuan ) and arrived at Northern Shaanxi in October.
We crossed snow mountain and pasture for three times. But we didn't know reasons, only followed commands to carry on. It's falling snow heavily when we crossed snow mountain. Local Tibetan people said that you Red Army could not conquer the mountains. Snow covered the whole world. The troops treaded forward through a snow lane. In cold weather, leaders advised us to bind our feet well and eat hot pepper to dispel cold with a finger-bamboo firebrand. Our troops started to climb snow mountains at 3 o'clock ,and were not up to the summit at noon in next day. Fires lightened a long way from the foot to the summit, even I could not separate fire and starlight. We asked for his partners who joined the army together, he shook his head and said sorrowfully : “most of them were die in continuous moves, battles and reorganization .”

On March 1, 1935, I joined the Red Army in my hometown Hezhang of Bijie when I was 24 years old serving as a solider in 12 th regiment, 4 th division, 2 nd route army. I ever fought in Chishui, Liupanshui, Zhaizhangba, Xuanwei and Chuxiong,etc. At last, we met central Red Army. At that time, our strength was inferior to the enemy. The number of enemy was five times more that of ours. We fought desperately. In battle of Xuanwei, we eliminated a regiment. And Battle in Chuxiong lasted one day and night.

Tao Ligong, 88 old, He looks good. My patents both passed away. At that

time, I was so poor. And it's the best way join the army. In 1933, I joined in 2 nd corps when I was 13 years old. Then I participated over 10 battles from Guizhou to Hunan and Hubei . Among which, battles in Longxigou, CHengjiagou, Taozixi, Banliyuan and Fenghuang,etc. regions, we captured several division commanders alive and defeated away several divisions. I could remembered that a doggerel was very popular in the battle in Fenghuang “Tao Guang, warlord of Hunan, lead troops to Fenghuang, seriously injured after one battle, run away with the tail between the legs ”.
The old men narrated stories which had passed for a long time and those bloody memories elapsed far, but figures of three soldiers trekked in snow pasture could not be wiped away.

He Mingde, male, birth place: Tiefu of Tongjiang, retired the Red Army. Since Xi'an Incident happened in 1936, he had served as a bodyguard of vice chairman Zhou Enlai and escorted Zhou escaped from razor edges in Laoshan , Changsha and Wuhan . He also knew top secrets of the Party and the Eight Route Army, familiar with conditions of top leaders.
In June of 1942, he worked in the agency of Eight Route Army in Chongqing accompanying Mr. Zhou, and asked off for going home. After home, local Kuomintang flunky interrogated him in Communists Removal HQ. He made a story that he was a press-gang man caught by No.21 Kuomintang corps and entered the army of Chen Cheng. These banditti found out no evidences in his house and kept watch on him. He could not come back, even contact with the CPC.

    In 1932, when the Red Army came to Tongjiang, her seven family members joined in. Except for her, the rest all were killed in revolution campaign. When we asked her why you join the army, She told us in unostentatious words “we can be full up while joining the army ”. It's her simple thought.
    In 1935, Our troops ferried the Jialing River to western plains and stepped on the Long March.
    In March of 1937, I served as the head of arts propaganda team in political section of Yanan.
    In September of 1938, she accompanied with here husband Xu Mengqiu and worked with Chen Tanqiu and Mao Zemin in underground Party. Her husband served as the head of organization section of the Party committee of Xinjiang.
    In 1949, Li Yunan was appointed to Chuanbei Administrative Office and participated land reform. In 1950, he served as counsel of Chuanbei Administrative Office, From 1951 to 1958, he served as deputy chief in personnel section and civil administration section of Tongjiang county.
    Every Red Army solider had his own legend.
