In Qinghai Province, Quyi is one of the most popular forms of arts. In Han habitation area, you can see Quyi everywhere. It mainly spreads in the capital-Xining, Hidong region, Hainan region and Haixi region. It’s more famous in rural then in urban areas.

In rural areas, Quyi fans organize performance during festival or in wedding. Most of them have no budget. From this year on, the fans choose a house as their performance stage, and the government offers monetary support and invests 5000 yuan to buy musical instruments. The family who offers performance place is becoming rural cultural site.
