In 1379, Tsongkhapa’s mother, with the help of
the local faithful, built a small temple with a stupa around this
tree. This was the first temple at Kumbum.
In 1560, the mediator Rinchen-tsondru-gyeltsen (Rin-chen brtson-‘grus
rgyal-mtshan) built a small monastery, called Gonpalung, for intensive
meditation practice.
In 1577, Maitreya Buddha Hall was founded.
In 1590, Third Dalai Hall was founded.
In 1592,Third Dalai Dagoba Hall was founded.
In 1604, Sakyamuni Hall was founded.
In 1612, Sutra Hall was foundered
In 1622, Pagoda Hall was founded.
In 1949, Mizong School was founded.
In 1689, Big Kitchen was founded.
In 1692, Xiaojinwa Hall was founded.
In 1711, Menta was founded.
In 1739, Jiujian Hall was founded.
In 1776, Ba Pagoda was founded.
In 1809, Jinwa Temple was founded.
In 1953, Qinghai Province government allocated 370 million to
decorate Dajinwa Hall.
In 1991, State Council allocated 2 million to restore Ta’er Lamasery.
In 1992, restoring group was set up.
On 9 June, 1992, beginning ceremony of restoring was hold.
On 25 Oct, 1994, first stage of the storing was completed.
On 16 Jan, 1996, Shao Yifu, a Hong Kong millionaire, donated 3
million Hong Kong dollar.
On 22 Aug, 1996, storing of Ta’er was completed.
