Ya’an is famous as the home of panda in China among the zoologists around the world.

In 2006, The France Menigoute Animal Movie Festival cooperated with Ya’an due to its geograph, nature, ecology, especially the pandas here. Through the movie festival, Ya’an was aimed at advocating environmental protection and ecological construction in the communication with the hometown of Armand David who was the first discover of pandas.

The movie festival not only attracted visitors around the world, but also attracted celebrities. Lu Chuan, Chen Xiaoyi and Tao Hong all came to the base to adopt pandas. Tao Hong was the first to be an adopter, and then Lu Chuan and Chen Xiaoyi followed.

The panda adopted by Chen Xiaoyi was named Dandan which was the same as her son.

China Ya’an International Panda, Animal and Nature Movie Festival was opened in the stadium of Sichuan Agricultural University in Ya’an.

The panda adopted by Lu Chuan was in the cage and was named Chuanchuan.
