Fala

Fala is the representative of God in the world, whose function is to deliver the God’s expression and pick up the sacrificial offerings. This is similar to the “Tianzi” in ancient society, while Tianzi was the son of the god, who governed the world on behalf of his father. If human broke his rule, they would be thrown into the hell. In the past, feudal landlord ruled the people through Fala to maintain their status. In modern society, this religious tradition is kept.

Fala dance is the last program in Nadun carnival. In Turkish, Fala means the representative of God, and also the medium of human beings and god. He decorated himself with steel sword and puncheons. When he gets extremely excited, his body is taken over by a supernatural spirit. And then, he danced towards sacrificial offerings, touched them by sword and declared to villagers that the god has received the offerings and he will bless them in the next year. At that time, all the people cheer at god’s blessing and transfer the divine sedan to the next village.
