Simian Mountains is located in Jiangjin, Chongqing . There is beautiful scenery, rare animals and plants. It is also a third-class scenic area under state protection. I have a visit to the area in this summer holiday.

1 It is easier to climb to the sky than to take the Sichuan road.

On the way we reached there, some people felt tired, so my father and I firstly went to Guzhandao in Huayangou.

From the flat road to the stone track, from the stone track to the “bridge” made up of wooden brackets and to the plank roadway built along perpendicular rock-faces by means of wooden brackets fixed into the cliff, we have been rather careful, in fear of falling down. Although we were excited in the beginning, as it was harder and harder to climb up, we became more and more tired. We also felt the hardship of the ancient people. I have already felt exhausted when we climbed up the mountain, and when we came down, I almost rolled down the mountain.

2 The ancient people once said it was easier to climb to the sky than to take the Sichuan road. Today I really shared this feeling.

The place where dragons and tigers hide – the place where people of unusual ability are to be found

After we came back from the Guzhandao, we then went to Wolonggou instead of having a rest. We came to the Monkey Mountain by boat. And then we went to find the track of dragons. We enjoyed the dragon-shaped clouds, winding dragons and dragon-shaped water, each of which has its own story about dragon. I cannot help high praise the place where people of unusual ability can be found.

3 Wangxiang

We came the Wangxiangtai Waterfall on the next day. It is 137 meters high and 57.3 meters wide. Although there are a lot of waterfalls in the area, this waterfall is the most famous one. When we look up at the waterfall, it is like a huge piece of white cloth dashing down the mountain. Unfortunately, it was cloudy that day and we could not njoy other scenery.

From the foot of the mountain to the top of the waterfall, although we have not experienced the steepness of the Qibaiti, it was really hard to climb up. Through the winding road, we came to the other side of the mountain. Then we came to Wangxiatai where we can overview the waterfall.

4. Qibaiti

We came to Dengtiandong after leaving Wangxiangtai. Then we came to Qibaiti where the road is rather narrow and the climb is rather dangerous. Although it is very hard to climb up, there are always a lot of visitors to want to have a try.

It is said that in 1957, there were three workers who died in the building of the road, from which we can see the danger of climbing.

Then after walking in the dark Dengtiandong, we came out under the guidance of sunlight where we saw the source of Wangxiangtai Waterfall.

5. taking a boat on Honghai

We furthered our tour after leaving Dengtiandong to Dahonghai. Unfortunately, I left my umbrella in Wangxiangtai and it suddenly rained.

The bad weather chilled me, which made me miss several scenic spots such as Taizi Temple and Peach Blossom Island .

The change of the weather made us pause our tour at the bank of Dahonghai, where streams of visitors bought local specialties and handicrafts despite bad weather.

6. on the border between Sichuan and Guizhou

We came to the border of Sichuan and Guizhou after lunch. To my disappointment, the border tablet was just a stone. And it was carved as the border of Sichuan and Guizhou instead of Chongqing and Guizhou . I was dressed in the costumes of ethnic minority in the persuasion of the local girl.

On the way back, some men asked me whether I wanted to ride Jiaozi. It was made up of two bamboo poles and a chair. Although it was hard to walk on the wet road, the men were all older than me and I felt embarrassed to be taken by them, so I continued by myself.

7 eighteen turns on the road of the mountain

Due to the bad weather, other people decided to stay in the rooms while my father and I went to Shuikou Temple Waterfall.

It was far from Wangxiangtai here. It took one hour to reach the top of the mountain by car, and the driver should be rather skillful. The winding road was only two to three meters wide. The car would fall down the mountain if there was another car head-on and the driver was not skillful. We felt rather afraid in the car.

8 the torrents dash down the mountain three thousand feet high

After we reached the destination, we went to burn joss sticks before the idols of Li Bing and his son. Then we continued to climb up the mountain. When we heard the sound of the stream, we knew the waterfall was near and forged ahead.

When we saw the waterfall in front of us, we felt it very interesting. Although Shuikou Temple Waterfall was not so wide and so powerful as the Wangxiangtai Waterfall, it also had its own beauty. If Wangxiangtai Waterfall was like the Milky Way on earth, Shuikou Temple Waterfall was like the wedding costume of bride.

There were once three undergraduates standing on a big rock to take a photograph of the waterfall. Unfortunately, the surging flood took all of them away. When we passed there, I felt the power of nature.

Then we came to visit Sandaoguai Waterfall which had three rises and falls instead of dashing down straightly. Although it was not high nor wide, it was the most beautiful in my opinion. Every time I saw it, I felt very happy.

Postscript

Due to the limited time and strength, some other places were not visited such as the Yuanyang Waterfall, Dafoyan, Mengbifeng, Yixiantian, Chaoyuan Daoist Temple , and Dawopu Primeval Forest . I will go to have a visit next time.
