The play "Who will marry with Yao Mei" is light comedy which was adapted from folk tales of Lantern Opera in Northern Sichuan, structure of script in this drama is simple and the cue is single. It showed people’s trivial life. It said that a man should get married on coming of age, and so should a girl, the girl’s destiny was decided through arranging a match by parents' order and on the matchmaker's word previously, and most of them had a tragic ending. Yao Mei is a young and beautiful rural embroidery girl, her parents had been died, she relied on her own diligence to feed herself, and living a happy life with neighbor sisters, she was "a rose with thorns" with lively and cheerful characters. She refused a lot of matchmakers, because she wanted to find a good guy for herself, Yao Mei refused two matchmakers in this drama, Yao Mei was not for the money and fell in love with Zhao Erwa who was a poor, honest, cute trumpeter, Zhao Erwa had no money to marry Yao Mei, he only had an honest and good heart. Yao Mei called Erwa to take her on his back with a bench which was her only dowry, and they completed their marriage in the lively farewell of sisters.

This section of the bench show absorbed performance of bench on foot which was a kind of folk dance, laughing monk which was a kind of folk dance in Northern Sichuan, the lion stood on the four angles of table, it was more relax compared with the performance of bench on foot, but mainly depending on balance of actors, or it was also instable on the top of bench and out of balance in an unguarded moment, there was a kind of feeling that easier said than done. The performances of two matchmakers were extremely exaggerated, which had broken through the expression of general drama. Yao Mei later used the only bench as bridal sedan chair and called Zhao Erwa to carry her on his back, it used the unique "Beijia" in Northern Sichuan, it was the main carriage tool of rural farmers in Northern Sichuan, and the task of Yao Mei’s wedding was completed with it. This play reflected characteristic of Lantern Opera that singing and dancing with exaggerated embroidery from beginning to end.
