    To cultivate sand mustard generally chose the sunny leeward areas at lower part of the sand dunes, and take advantage of the rain in April and May to sow seeds. It needs to water once or twice during the primary period. Harvest time begins at July till September. And in early October move the parts above the ground and keep the roots until next March and April they will re-sprout and grow to be new plants. Remove the top parts of the branches to promote the plants to grow in May and the flowers will boom in June and harvest the seeds in August.

Sand mustards were rarely planted by human before and people search wild sand mustard instead. But nowadays the wild sand mustards are much fewer, so some people suggest planting sand mustard at the lower part of the sand dunes or on sandy farmland. It is a pity that the planting techniques are not developed well and it is not easy to get a good harvest. Ningxia Taole Desert Industry Cooperation cultivated a new kind of vegetable from studying the sand mustard. The new sand mustard is widely used now.

Taole County has got the primary success based on the project of planting wild sand mustard. It can get more than 400 to 500kg every mu (a Chinese unit of area). It promoted planting sand mustard among local people and provided available techniques to adjust the industrial structure of ecological construction.
