| Some people swim in Jingmi Channel, which
results in pollution of water quality. It's said that
every year, more than twenty people died of drowning in
this channel in summer. In the picture, there is a sign

In summer, many local citizens go to swim in Jingmi
Channel. They ignore the sign of "No Swimming"
on the banks. Their behavior pollutes the water quality.
However, every year, more than twenty people died of
drowning in this channel.
In order to enforce the protection of water resource,
Beijing Standing Committee passed "Regulations
on Miyun Reservoir, Huairou Reservoir and Jingmi Channel"
in 1995, in which discharge of sewage, washing clothes
in channel, pollution of water are forbidden.
