                      Xi'datan Middle School(B)Hometown and people
(In 2007, 20 students in Xi'datan Middle School participated in West China Story Project. Since Apr 12 of 2007, as many as 110 stories and 463 photos are published on "westchianstory" website. All the web pages are made by the students themselves with the instruction of tutors named Pu Cheng and Cheng Yun in their spare time. )
In children's eyes, their school is like this
"At the foot of Mount Qilian, there is a town called Xi'datan. It used to be cold. In winter, you can see snow-capped mountain; in summer and autumn, the mountain is covered with green trees. The forest cover rate amounts to 80%. The air is fresh and the river is clean. It’s a beautiful place......"(By Mao Hong-zu)

“Listen, dewdrop is dropping. The sheepherder drives the cattle up on the mountain. They climb up and down the mountain and watch cattle eating seeds. ”

In a rainy afternoon, our instructor, a journalist from Shanghai and our classmates went to do a research in forest. We took a lot of pictures on the way. From local herd people’s words, we got to know that Xiama Forest is the vanguard of our hometown.

Xiama Grassland is my hometown. Each family raises livestock here, including valuable goats and mild sheep. Xiama Grassland seems to be the paradise for goats and sheep. They are compared to pearls on the green carpet.

Winter comes. It’s the most beautiful period in campus. The ground is covered with a large white carpet. White poplars and evergreen trees wear silver suits.
