Town and Talent Project Member Schools:Principals Assembly

The First Principals Assembly

On December 30, 2002, the first “Town and Talent Conference of Member Schools' Principals” was held at the Tianjin branch office of Town and Talent Technologies. The principals from all 41 different member schools in Gansu, Shanxi, Ningxia, Qinghai, Tibet, Hebei and Jilin provinces, as well as Beijing, attended. During the two-day conference, principals from the member schools also toured the 'Testing room' in the Town and Talent Technologies Internet cafe. They then toured the Town and Talent Technologies branch office in Tianjin. Dr. Lin and Town and Talent employees participated in a question-and-answer session with the principals. After two days of face-to-face and warm exchange, the awareness and enthusiasm level of the principals' involvement in the Town and Talent Project were greatly increased. At the same time, this conference allowed schools and Town and Talent Technologies to better acquaint themselves with one another.

The 2nd Principals Assembly

On December 27, 2003, Town and Talent Technologies hosted an exchange forum for member school principals at YSRICC. More than 120 officials, scholars, businessmen and member school principals from Beijing, Gansu, Tibet, Taiwan, and Hong Kong were privileged to attend this extraordinary event. With the recent tragic death of the founder of Town and Talent Technologies, Mr. Sayling Wen, this forum was filled with a special meaning and atmosphere as personal tributes to Mr. Wen were given in his memory. Distinguished guests poignantly recalled Mr. Wen's wisdom and zealous passion. One and all vowed to continue their efforts in realizing the Town and Talent Technologies dream to benefit China's impoverished western areas. They pledged to accomplish Mr. Wen's final unfulfilled wish in helping to fully develop western China and eliminate the endemic problems of poverty.

The Third Principals Assembly

In 2004 Town and Talent Technologies strongly promoted inflows of outside knowledge and expertise to member school teachers and students in western China. Altogether, six training programs were offered. Some 110 people, including foreign teachers, came with love and care to member schools. Most of the approximately 170 teachers who participated and benefited from these programs gave very positive feedback and comments. To encourage more and more member schools to receive outside knowledge and help, Town and Talent Technologies called on all member schools to apply for it. Implementation of the e-charity platform (on www.17888.com) makes it more convenient for member schools to make their needs know to the outside world.
