“Hi!My name is Ilaria De Paolis, and I’m Italian. I’m fourteen and I live in San Cesareo, a small town near Rome.……” Xi’datan Middle School recently received three letters from Italian students named Carla Ciavolla，Maria De Los Angeles Murillo Gallo and Ilaria De Paolis. They hope to make pen friends with students in Xi’datan Middle School, and then get to learn each other’s life.
　　

Half a year ago, with the accompany of Dr. Kenny Lin, two American journalists from Atlantic Monthly visited Xi’datan Middle School. They were surprised at the reward the students got in 2007 Cyber Fair. After the visit, the journalists wanted to create more chances for Town and Talent projects available to the whole world. Half a year later, Italian students were introduced to participate in China West Story project.

Three Italian students have written to students in Xi’datan Middle School, in which they talked about their living, interest and sent their photos. On China West Story platform, students from none English spoken nations can communicate by writing emails, and thus increase their English levels and promote the friendship.

After receiving the letters, the students in Xi’datan Middle School paid much attention on it. They decided to grasp the precious chance, and reply them as quickly as possible.

Town and Talent Technologies also thought highly on the international friendship. They hope the activity can promote the communication between students in China west and Italy. They determined to create more chances for people to learn about China and the students’ life.
