Communication with Uncle Wei

    For better understanding the circumstance of parents working outside, on October 16th, 2007, web page match group carried on an interview to Uncle Wei.
    Little reporter: Uncle Wei, how are you! Thank you for accepting our interview. We know you work outside home all year long, could you calculate for us in a year how many days you are outside?
    Uncle Wei: Hello, everyone! I come home in spring to sow seeds, and come in autumn also. In a year, I stay in outside for about 8 months. People like us are a lot, they are almost outside all year long.
    Little reporter: do you have families at home during the eight months you are outside?
    Uncle Wei: I go to the time of outside together with my wife, more persons outside, more money. Only two children are at home.
    Little reporter: how old are your children? Can they look after the whole family? Do they go to school?
Uncle Wei: both of my children go to school now. One is in second grade of junior high school, the other in the third grade of junior high school. They are old enough to look after themselves, although they can not look after the hoe totally.
    Little reporter: when you are outside, they have to go to school while looking after the home. Do you think this will affect their study?
    Uncle Wei: yes, but we have no other choice! If we looking after them at home, we can not afford their school fees. Although now nation have exempted school fees, book fees, but we still have to pay others. Two children cost much. For the sake of these expenses, we have to do outside part-time jobs leaving them alone.
    Little reporter: you have done a lot for the children. But, you stay outside for long while, how do you communicate with the children?
    Uncle Wei: this is the problem. Staying outside, we seldom make a phone call to them to save money to buy others for children. However because of this, communication between children and us become less and less. Now, we have communication problems. Our elder child no longer communicates with us like before. His personality also becomes silent!
    Little reporter: yes, for the space distance, you must have some problems in communication. However, I believe that they can understand you. Under your support, they can get good marks in study.
