Scenery in Xiama Forest
                              Stone Gate
Gorge gets its name because of its shape. There is
a swift river. On the banks of the river, there are
mountains of various shapes. Some are like mighty
generals, some are like old men and some are like
babies. There are also a great number of thick trees
in the mountain, which not only maintain the balance
of ecosystem, but also provide home for plants and
animals. It also plays a very significant role in
desert area, which has been under provincial protection.

  Erlangshen
Pond is a peculiar scenic spot in the local area.
According to the legend, it was very dry and people
prayed for rain. When Erlangshen passed here, he saw
the poor people and barren land, so he determined
to help them. A holy pond appeared in the area and
people lived a happy life since then, so people gave
the name Erlangshen Pond. The water is rather clear
and more than ten meters deep. The blue sky, white
clouds, green trees, clear water and animals form
a beautiful picture. It is this pond that cultivates
the local people and makes everything flourish. It
                            is really a holy pond.
