Town and Talent Project Member Schools:SET Competition

The concept of SET skills was developed by Mr. Sayling Wen, the founder of Town and Talent Technologies. SET stands for Software, English, Typing, emphasizing the use of software, English and typing in the modern information society.

SET skills are widely considered the most basic skills of the 21rst century - the era of the information network. SET skills are also key entry skills, be it in job-hunting, the workplace, or communications. SET skills are essential to creating wealth in the network society of the future. Particularly when it comes to the impoverished youth of western China, developing sound SET skills remains the only means for them to change their destinies.

Tt is necessary to introduce outside capital in order to both develop the economy and improve conditions in western China. Currently, people in underdeveloped areas lack the ability to create wealth. Hence, they must attract outside capital, but this in itself requires bringing in outside knowledge. SET skills are the key to achieving this goal. The three components of SET skills are at the very root of 21st century living. SET skills are crucial in accessing the Internet.

Town and Talent Technologies (China) uses the Internet to provide multimedia self-learning application software such as the 'English One-Step', 'Software One-Step' and 'Typing One-Step' application software to its member schools. This permits teachers' and students' remote learning of SET (Software, English, Typing) skills.
